Getting started

Downloading the game

Download the game from the download page of our website. It offers versions for Windows, Linux and macOS; what your computer needs is listed under System requirements. Download the game only from our website: copies from elsewhere may contain malware (see Account security).

Installing

Windows: Start the installer txSetup.exe (about 50 MB) and follow its steps. It installs the game into Program Files\Revive Tanki unless you choose another folder, adds Revive Tanki to the Start menu and, if you like, a shortcut on the desktop. At the end it can start the game right away.

Linux: There is no installer. Unpack the archive tankix-linux.tar.gz (about 70 MB) wherever you like; it contains the folder ReviveTanki. Start tankix.x86_64 in that folder. From then on the game appears as "Revive Tanki" in your desktop's application menu; on a laptop with two graphics cards, that entry starts it on the more powerful one.

macOS: Open ReviveTanki.dmg (about 185 MB) and drag ReviveTanki into the Applications folder. The app is not signed by Apple, so macOS blocks it at first: the download page and the support page explain the one extra step it takes.

You never have to download updates yourself: every time the game starts, it checks for a new version and installs it by itself.

Registration

When the game starts, it shows the LOG IN window. If you don't have an account yet, click SIGN UP and fill in the form:

Nickname: 2 to 20 characters. Latin letters, digits, the hyphen (-), the dot (.) and the underscore (_) are allowed. The nickname has to start and end with a letter or a digit, and two of those special characters may not follow each other. It must not be taken yet and must comply with the Game Rules: an account whose nickname breaks them can be blocked.
E-mail: an address of yours that works. An address can belong to one account only.
Password and Repeat password: 6 to 20 characters. Almost any character is allowed, but the password may not be the same as your nickname.
Tick the box to accept the End User License Agreement, the Game Rules and the Privacy and Cookies Policy.

Then click REGISTER. Congratulations, you now have an account!

When many accounts are being created at once, the game also asks you to type the characters you see on a picture.

After you register, the game sends an e-mail to your address. Confirm it: with a confirmed address you can get a new password when you forget yours, and the first confirmation brings 50 X-crystals. How it works is explained in E-mail and Discord.

Choose a strong password and use an e-mail address that works. Our tips in Account security help you keep your account safe.

Next time, log in with your nickname or e-mail and your password. With Remember me ticked, the game logs you in by itself. If you forget your password, click Forgot nickname or password? (see Restore your account). If you run into problems while registering or playing, contact our support.

The first start

After your first login, the game downloads its content: maps, tanks and effects, several hundred megabytes in all. You don't have to wait until it is done: as soon as the screen says "The game is loading, but you can start playing", you can press Play. Whatever is still missing is downloaded when it is needed, for example a map before your first battle on it.

After logging in you come to the main menu. In the middle stands your tank with its first equipment: the hull Hunter and the turret Smoky.

Top left are your rank icon, your progress towards the next rank and your nickname. Click on them to open your profile: your rank and experience, your league and reputation, your ratio of wins and defeats and the turret and hull you play most. In its ACCOUNT section you can confirm or change your e-mail, connect Discord, change your nickname, enter a promo code or log out.
The main buttons are GARAGE, PLAY and SHOP: the garage holds your equipment, PLAY takes you into battles, and the shop has the special offers. Hover over a button to see a tip.
Further buttons lead to your daily quests, to buying X-crystals and exchanging them for crystals, to the settings and out of the game.
The friends list is where you find your friends and invite them into a squad (see Friends and Squads).

From any other screen, the back button takes you back towards the main menu.

How do I log out?

In the main menu, click on your rank icon or your nickname to open your profile.
In the ACCOUNT section, click Logout and confirm. The login window opens again.

Settings

Turn the sound up, adjust the picture and more in the settings: in the main menu, click the gear button at the top right. Everything about them is in Settings.

Controls

You drive your tank with the keys W, A, S and D, use modules with the number keys and aim and shoot with the mouse. All keys are listed in Controls.
