Players leaving lobbies and battles are bad for everyone: for their team, for the matchmaking system – and for themselves, because they never learn to push through. Cherry-pickers in the lobby are selfish and actively make matchmaking worse for other players.
This update makes leaving battles and lobbies less attractive.
Changelog
New
- The deserter status is now also triggered when leaving a lobby, if there are players on the enemy team and the lobby has enough players.
- The "Leave Lobby" button has been removed for deserters. Closing the client as a workaround just triggers the next reputation penalty and increases the number of battles you need to finish.
- Deserters no longer benefit from the battle series bonus, and their current battle series is reset.
Restored
- Under certain circumstances, deserters receive a reputation penalty when leaving a battle. This is an old feature that simply hadn't been restored until now.
Good to know
- You receive the deserter status after leaving two battles or lobbies.
- This update doesn't punish anyone for leaving a lobby that doesn't have enough players to start.
- Only players who join via matchmaking and leave running battles or lobbies are affected.
We hope this update makes the game more enjoyable for everyone. Fire at will! :p
