Hulls

See also: Skins

Picking the right turret is only half the job: your tank also needs a hull that suits the way you play. There are seven of them, from light and fast to heavy and well armoured. Each hull has its own skins, takes a paint and carries modules. Every player starts with the Hunter, so the popular tactics can be tried out from the very first ranks.

How to equip a hull

Open the GARAGE from the main screen and click CHANGE HULL. A list of all hulls appears at the bottom of the screen: choose one and click SELECT. If you don't own the hull yet, click BUY instead.

Hull levels and rewards

A hull levels up with the experience it earns in battles: after every battle it gets the same experience as your rank, including the bonuses of a winning streak and of premium. Some quests reward hull experience too. Custom battles give none. More about it on the experience page.

Light hulls

Wasp

Wasp

This hull was designed to be sold to private armies all over the world. The Wasp made short work of old-style tanks, and it still finds its place in a modern war. It closes or opens the distance in no time and slips away from enemy fire with ease. It is built to intercept a clumsy opponent and drag it into a fast, mobile fight. The Wasp cannot take much punishment and may even flip over when a heavy shell hits it, but it serves those well who don't put themselves in the line of fire.

Players' opinion

  • ⊕ Its speed and agility let it reach unexpected positions to pick off or intercept enemies.
  • ⊗ Easily flipped over by powerful shots. Little armor.

Hornet

Hornet

Antaeus developed the Hornet to show off its "X" tanks on battlefields all over the world. At high speed, Hornets appear right under the enemy's nose and smash its positions in a flash. This hull can take a punch and keep rolling, but quick manoeuvres in a tight spot are not its thing.

Players' opinion

  • ⊕ A versatile, good-looking hull with good speed: just right for lightning attacks.
  • ⊗ Flips over easily and skids a lot under acceleration. Little armor.

Medium hulls

Hunter

Hunter

The Hunter is where all "X" tanks began: the first hull to go into mass production, and it is still used everywhere today. A hull of the first generation of tanks, it tries to strike the best balance between armor and mobility. The Hunter shows up where the fighting is, not where you sit back and snipe.

Players' opinion

  • ⊕ An all-rounder that fits any style of combat, with average values in everything.
  • ⊗ Heavy to handle.

Viking

Viking

The Viking was created while the war had ground to a standstill. Something had to break the deadlock on a front where only tactics could win. This hull is the "universal tactical unit", the second generation of "X" tanks, a tool for any task on the battlefield. For a long time it was the backbone of the elite units of professionals.

Players' opinion

  • ⊕ Its low silhouette lets it move behind walls and stay unseen.
  • ⊗ Too wide for some spots on the maps, and it doesn't always make a sharp turn.

Dictator

Dictator

When Antaeus turned the war into a fight to dominate and hold territory, its factories began producing the Dictator. Its layers of crystalline alloy armor and its sheer size make it hard to miss. A tank with this hull needs only one thing: to draw the fire onto itself and answer it.

Players' opinion

  • ⊕ Its turret sits at the edge of the hull, which lets it fire from behind cover.
  • ⊗ Its height makes it an easier target, and it is heavy to handle.

Heavy hulls

Mammoth

Mammoth

The Mammoth is a child of the new war and an age of disasters, the answer to the destructive force of the elements and of new weapons. It is the cornerstone of every defence and the starting point of every major offensive. It needs neither speed nor agility: it needs to take the blows and hold its ground, and that it always does.

Players' opinion

  • ⊕ So tough it can withstand several enemy turrets at once: ideal for defending the base.
  • ⊗ Slow and sluggish.

Titan

Titan

A technological breakthrough from the laboratories of Frontier, the Titan is the main component of invasion tanks. Titans step into the spinning meat grinder of battle to be the bone that jams it. Its crystal-enriched titanium alloy makes sure this hull cools down the heat of battle and survives it.

Players' opinion

  • ⊕ Good handling and armor: an indispensable helper in defending the flag.
  • ⊗ Low speed.
